People across the commonwealth continue to step up to help those in need in the Philippines.
Gleaning for the World has been holding supply drives this week.
They say people have donated five to six tons worth of supplies at the Bedford and Lynchburg drop off sites alone.
If you would still like to help out, you can drop donations off at the Sam's Club on Wards Road in Lynchburg Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
More than 600,000 people in the Philippines are in desperate need of supplies following last week's massive typhoon.
With the devastation and debris hampering relief efforts, people around the world, including here in the commonwealth, are pitching in to send aid.
Gleaning For The World is holding several supply drives in our area this week. They kicked off on Tuesday, and just on the first day, people donated 6,000 pounds of emergency supplies.
Gleaning For The World has decided to extend the supply drive at the Sam's Club on Ward Road in Lynchburg. They will now be accepting donations on Thursday, Nov. 14, and Friday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Bedford Walmart on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as well as the Word of Truth Ministries at 643 Peters Creek Road in Roanoke between noon and 5 p.m. Thursday.
Items needed include:
