There will be a recount in the Virginia Attorney General's race.
The campaign for Republican state Senator Mark Obenshain says the candidate will formally file a request for a recount on Wednesday in Richmond.
The State Board of Elections certified statewide vote totals this past Monday, and Democratic state Senator Mark Herring defeated Obenshain by 165 votes. That margin is the lowest for a win in a statewide election in Virginia history.
State recount rules allow for a recount when the winner is than 1 percent away from the loser.
