Kroger works to make a difference this Thanksgiving by sending local families in need home with a full turkey day meal.
The grocery chain teamed up with Feeding America Southwest Virginia, and on Tuesday, they passed out 200 turkeys and bags full of the essentials, such as potatoes and pumpkin pie.
Employees say they have a lot to be thankful for, which is why they're happy to be giving.
"We'd be happy doing it in a foot of snow out here because the people come and they need it," said employee Carl York, "so we're glad to be out here."
Kroger also presented Feeding America a check for $18,000.
