The circus has arrived! The 56th annual Kazim Shrine Circus happens all weekend at the Roanoke Civic Center with shows tonight at 7:30, Saturday at 10, 3 and 7:30 and Sunday at 1:30 and 6:30. Of course the lions and tigers, elephants and horses are all back this year. You can also expect trapeze artists, unicyclists, acrobats and jugglers plus circus clowns to trigger your coulrophobia. They're actually not scary. Get your tickets and more information at roanokeciviccenter.com.
If you're a little light on cash, but still looking for something for the kids, Tons Of Fun is tomorrow at Tanglewood Mall. Free of charge and bunches of activities including puppet shows, music, magicians, games, crafts, caricatures, carnival rides and more spread throughout the mall. Tons Of Fun happens from 10-4.
Of course the Grammy-winning Snarky Puppy show at the Jeff Center is sold out, but do not despair, there's a lot of other great music to check out. Meshell Ndegeocello is at the Lyric Theatre in Blacksburg tonight at 8 and Seven Mile Ford plays Billy's Barn. Mohamed Bhana and friend of the show JD Sutphin team up tonight at 419 West for an 8:30 concert, and you can check out a "polyphonic space-blues explosion" with the Rooftop Cowboys at 10:00 at Blues Barbecue.
