BURNSVILLE, Minn., Feb. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Let the race begin! The Sixteenth Annual SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING presented by Cities 97 takes off down Buck Hill, Saturday, March 1, 2014, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Teams of four are invited to race down the tubing hill atop specially covered bed mattresses (provided at the race site).

Registration fees for a team of four are:

Participants are encouraged to collect donations. One hundred percent of registration fees and donations benefit Bridging, a Bloomington-based non-profit organization that supports more than 5,000 families transitioning out of homelessness and poverty each year. By providing furniture and household goods to families and individuals in need, Bridging gives hope to thousands. For more information visit Bridging.org.

Participants must be at least 18-years-old. Teams are encouraged to dress creatively and compete in the Cities 97 Costume Contest.

The SUBWAY® Bedrace for Bridging was created in 1999 by local SUBWAY® Restaurants to raise awareness and funds for Bridging. The event has grown from less than 20 teams racing down Buck Hill's tubing slope, to an annual event that, since its inception, has raised more than a half-a-million dollars to support families transitioning out of homelessness.
