Two arrested for allegedly attempting to kill their roommate

Roanoke County Police have arrested two people for allegedly trying to strangle and kill their roommate.

24-year-old Elizabeth Wright of Roanoke and 22-year-old Joshua DeHart of Roanoke were arrested and charged with attempted murder and abduction. Dehart was also charged with strangulation.

Police say it happened on March 3rd at approximately 7:30 P.M. when officers responded to the 3300 block of Circlebrook Drive in Roanoke County for a domestic  disturbance.

The victim,  a 44-year old Roanoke resident, was able to escape from an apartment after two subjects who lived with him attempted to strangle him and kill him.  Police say the murder attempt was preplanned and no other victims were targeted.

Elizabeth Wright was hiding nearby after the attempt and was arrested.  Joshua Dehart was arrested with the assistance of the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force.  

The victim  did not require treatment for his injuries.

Dehart and Wright were held without bond.
