If you're into racing, I've got a pair of events going on at the Virginia Museum of Transportation you won't want to miss. The Blue Ridge Racer's Reunion is tomorrow morning at the museum starting at 10 a.m. It's a chance to meet racing legends and learn how speeding along dirt roads inspired the sport and made NASCAR what it is today. POPS Parade Party follows at 3 p.m. The parade will feature historic NASCAR Racing Legend Stock cars, replica cars and even Moonshine cars and the original number 26 Ford convertible race car. One of the neat things about our area is all of the traditional music produced by local musicians for generations. It's getting showcased with the Crooked Road Festival that kicked off Wednesday and runs through Sunday all over the New River Valley. Some of the highlights include An Evening of Beans and Banjos tomorrow night at the Meadowbrook Center in Shawsville, a clogging workshop in Blacksburg, and live performances all weekend from a ton of varied Appalachian musicians. The whole thing is presented by the Center For The Arts at Virginia Tech. Get the whole rundown of events for The Crooked Road Festival at artscenter.vt.edu.
Guess who's back in theaters this weekend! Kermit, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal and Beaker. "Muppets Most Wanted" has the gang pulled into a European jewel-heist headed by a villain with more than a passing resemblance to a well-known frog. Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, and Ty Burrell of Modern Family are among the humans, but these movies always have a slew of cameos.
