I've tried to dig up a couple of things that won't conflict with the Susan G. Komen Race tomorrow morning, or Sunday's Roanoke Wedding Crawl. I think you could pack all of this into one weekend.
First up, country music's Justin Moore is bringing his Off The Beaten Path tour to the Salem Civic Center tonight at 7 p.m. He's an Academy of Country Music award winner for New Artist of the Year, and he's got the approval of Charlie Daniels, who calls him "a breath of fresh air." Special guests Randy Houser and Josh Thompson join Justin Moore tonight. Tickets are available at the box office, or get them online at SalemCivicCenter.com.
I can't believe it's the sixth annual Blue Ridge Bike Fest. It's going on all weekend at the Roanoke Civic Center. Motorcycle vendors offering test rides, live music, gear for your bike, stunt riders and more. But the largest collection of bikes you'll see will be in the Civic Center parking lot. This thing gets bigger every year and has become the largest motorcycle rally in the commonwealth. If you're anywhere near the Roanoke Civic Center, I don't think you can avoid it.
My movie pick of the week is horror flick "Oculus," which opens this weekend everywhere. In it, a woman tries to exonerate her brother, who was convicted of murder, by proving that the crime was committed by a supernatural phenomenon. Karen Gillan from "Doctor Who" stars, which will get a lot of nerds like me into seats, but some of the images in these trailers have turned out to be complete nightmare fuel. "Oculus" is rated R.
